Dear Mr. Morse,
Colonial office,
Downing PATćet,
S.3.1.
21 November, 1945.
Just a line to acknowledge your letter of the 9th November about the amount of the grant which it is suggested will be necessary to enable the University of Hong Kong to meet its commitments to its staff.
I have held up a reply pending another talk with Mr. Sloss and Mr. Cox in order to clear certain issues. We will now make an informel approach to the Treasury on the basis of your letter.
I am also taking up here the question of giving formal powers to our small Finance Committee.
FURTHER ACTION
Yours sincerely,
A.
